I do have colour.

Last night our two dear friends lost everything they own in a house fire. They managed to escape with the clothes on their backs. They lived in a local (Newcastle) community of creatives, musicians, artists. They started the local Commons Cafe, a venue for creative groups, bands, or individuals to meet, collaborate, listen, read. And everyone lost everything, instruments, craft stash, books, photos, but thankfully, no one was hurt.

My last post was about the comfort found in a quilt. And today I've been thinking. I don't have money to replace their clothes or instruments or, at the moment, the capacity to fund raise. I do have some colour. And a bunch of friends from all over the world. And when I thought of making them a quilt, I thought a beautiful gift would be an eclectic mix of squares from all around the place. Could you help me?

I would love to collect a big bunch of 5" squares to make a new bed quilt for Tim and Caitlin. They love music, upcycled and all things Scandinavian.

Could you spare a square? If so, can you please send it to:

Thank you, thank you, for your help to bring some colour and comfort. Please share this with your friends!

  5. I don't have instrument prints but I'd be happy to send some squares with musical notes on. Do you particularly only want one square in each fabric ?

  6. hi Jodi, I found you through Lucy, who is in the do.GoodStitches bee I just joined. I will cut some squares over the weekend and post to you next week. That's so lovely that you are making a quilt - losing everything in a fire is devastating. Cat

  7. Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles?

I mean, what you say is important and everything. But think
about if you added some great graphics or videos to give your
posts more, "pop"! Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this website
could certainly be one of the greatest in its field.
    Terrific blog!

  9. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment
(it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to everything. Do you have any recommendations for inexperienced blog writers? I'd definitely appreciate it.

I so love your comments! I read all of them and reply when I can. If you don't hear back, I'm lost under a mound of scraps or outside jumping on the trampoline with the kids. Jodi. xx
