Jewels to Give Away!
Let me tell you about these lovely jewels!
Four months ago, just before New Years, I made the decision not to buy any new fabric for this whole year! I'd had a successful couple of years making and selling children's clothing, I'd opened up a little shop in town, and my scrap bag, once just one little pillowcase full, had grown to six! I was overwhelmed by these unsorted bags of mess, I was a little tired of pinafores and I felt uncomfortable about the amount of fabric I was buying. So I challenged myself to a year of sorting and creating with those scraps and sharing my journey here.
Just before I took the plunge into a year without fabric shopping, my wonderful friend Lucy let me know about a local (Aussie) fabric store selling lots of old, out of print Anna Maria Horner for only $10 a metre! I made my last big splurge for a year and almost cleared them out! It was amazing to have my last colourful delivery be an assortment of prints I had yearned for, having only started sewing seriously once these had already become rare and expensive.
Well, life has a way of taking those unexpected turns, and about a month ago, I closed up my little store and brought my fabric back home, setting up a beautiful, light little sewing studio on the sunny side of my house, and again, sewing in little bits, interruptible and worked around being a stay-at-home-mum. (You can ready about that journey on the blog here)
And much to my joy, I'm able to take a break from filling racks and rails with clothes and make whatever takes my fancy. Making quilts had always been my first love with sewing, but for some reason I felt it was more sensible to make clothes to sell. Now is my time to shed the 'sensible' and embrace the creative, simple and peaceful, and just see where that road takes me. And I'm still on my Fabric Fast and I'm loving it!
So when I thought of what I would enjoy giving away for Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway Day, my thoughts quickly turned to these beauties. I have here six fat quarters from Anna Maria's Garden Party and Good Folks line to be won. I feel so thankful I managed to find these, and so much of it, before I started the fast, I'd love to share them with you!
To enter the giveaway, leave a comment under this post. If you like, tell the fabric you wish would be reprinted!
This is open internationally! Everyone is welcome to enter. Just make sure I have a way of contacting you (through your blogger profile, or an email address in the comment)
Follow me here or on Facebook for a second chance and leave a second, separate comment to say so.
For another extra chance, share this giveaway with your friends through your social medium of choice! And let me know here with a third, separate comment.
The Giveaway is open till May 10th! I'll use the random number generator to pick the winner.
If you're new here through Sew Mama Sew, welcome! I'm Jodi, and I'd love to get to know you, and show you what I'm making here.
xx

I really wish they'd reprint "Out and About" from Michael Miller. Unless I'm just looking in all the wrong places... I just can't find it anywhere. My daughter saw the one with the luggage on it while I was reading blogs one day and fell in love with it - and demanded I make her a dress out of it. She's four, so she's probably already forgotten about it, but I check every ends bin I come across, just in case. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway - stunning colours!
Good Folks is honestly the line I'd love to be reprinted! It's the one that got me sewing. :)
ReplyDeleteKatie Jump Rope by Denyse Schmidt and Uptown by Erin Michaels are the lines I'd most love to see reprinted.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabrics. With so many gorgeous new fabrics coming out, I don't mind things aren't reprinted. I'm all about mixing up old and new, this designer and that... the more the better.
ReplyDeleteI would love for Hope Valley by Denyse Schmidt to be reprinted!
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteHmmm I'm not sure what fabric in particular I'd like reprinted - but I grew up with Holly Hobbie on my bed and I know that there must have been some Holly Hobbie fabric somewhere in the world in print. Wouldn't it be terrific if it was rereleased? AAAAHHH! I would buy it all!
ReplyDeleteI would love for Heather Ross' unicorns to be reprinted. And amazing giveaway!! Thanks for the chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteYup, AMH Good Folks!
ReplyDeleteEverything of Heather Ross!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have some Wonderland by Momo or Lucy's Crab Shack by sweetwater. Good for you, fabric fasting!
