Attack of the unfinished quilts.

This week my world has been overtaken by quilts in waiting. It's so unlike me. I usually work on one at a time. But I needed one I could hand-stitch while watching Iron Lady and one to machine quilt while the kids were out. And then a friend came around and offered to help so I got this woven lap quilt (a bigger version of my mini) cut out so one could sew and the other could press.

On a happier note, I sent of 5 parcels yesterday all around the world, including Spain, Sweden and Sydney! And I've had an amazing response to my SMS giveaway HERE!

How about you? Do you work on several things at once? One at a time? Do you dive into a quilt and not come up for air? Or do you you work on something for months?

  1. Loving that zig zag quilt!

So understand what you mean about trying to get one quilt done at a time. Makes me a bit crazy to have too many WiPs on the go!

  3. I tried to do one quilt at a time, but have failed in the last year. Some of it was for similar reasons: I didn't have any backing but still wanted to work on something or a baby was supposed to arrive soon and I didn't have a gift. But I'm slowly catching back up now. I'd like to have only one or two projects going on at once.

  4. I am terrible at having too many projects on the go. I started off wanting to do one at a time but I tend to get a little bored half way through a quilt so like to start something new and then return to it! lol x

  5. I try really hard to only have one quilt going at a time, so I don't get overwhelmed. I want to be able to finish *something*, you know? ;) I do have a long-term project going with my postage stamp quilt. It's taken so long that I am allowing myself to work on another quilt at the same time.

  6. I work on several at any given time--I have a short attention span. Seems like when I'm working on one, my mind wanders and I envision another so, of course, I have to move on to it.

Yeah, I work on 9 million things at once. I love going between different projects as I'd like. (check out my WIP Weds post... lol. what a list!)

I like to work on a few things at once. I'll start something big then a few smaller projects get started and finished in-between =D

  10. Oh my gosh I love the zig zag with the AMH fabrics so cute. As for me I am really bad about getting distracted on to many projects I am trying really hard to work though one project at a time, but it isn't going well for me :)

  12. Cool projects! Even when I'm trying to focus on one quilt, I usually have at least three I'm actively working on.

  13. I used to only have one at a time going but this year I am doing a block of the month and I joined a monthly block swap so at the beginning of each month I get a little busy with making 3-4 12.5" blocks. But I have had a couple of quilt tops waiting to be quilted which had to step aside for more urgent jobs which cropped up. I get to them all eventually!

  14. I start going cross-eyed when I have too many things going at once. Right now I have just one machine project since everything else is for Handstitched Class. It feels nice. (except that I better not spend too much time at the machine!)

I so love your comments! I read all of them and reply when I can. If you don't hear back, I'm lost under a mound of scraps or outside jumping on the trampoline with the kids. Jodi. xx
